What is Zirconia?

What is Zirconia?

Dental Zirconia itself is not just the compound zirconia dioxide, it actually has a mixture of properties. Most zirconia is comprised of “zirconia” (ZrO2) and “yttria” (Y2O3), which is commonly called Yittria-stabalized Zirconia (a zirconium-oxide based ceramic, in which the particular crystal structure of zirconium oxide is made stable at room temperature by an addition of yttrium oxide.)
